Reverend Dr. Mark A. Wainwright is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He is the youngest of three sons of the late Deacon Ralph S. Wainwright, Sr, and Deaconess Earnestine F. Wainwright. He established his Christian walk with the Lord at the age of nine, which has transformed his life and has led him to accept his calling to the preaching ministry. He was licensed to preach on November 19, 1989, and ordained on July 15, 2001, by the Concord Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of Dr. Matthew L. Jones. He is the proud former pastor of the Good Tidings Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD. He led this congregation as they continue to serve the Belair Edison community in East Baltimore. He is committed to Christ and the ministry and movement of the Holy Spirit. Some staples of his ministry are preaching, discipleship, liberation, and being an anchor in the community in which he serves.

 

His pastoral background is diverse. He served New Hope Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas as the Youth Pastor under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Derrick Harkins. He served Douglass Memorial Community Church in Baltimore as Youth and Young Adult Pastor under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Raphael Warnock. He served as Assistant to the Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church in Baltimore under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Marvis May, Sr. At Macedonia he learned pastoral ministry, community engagement, and community development.

 

He is a graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland where he obtained his BA Degree in Religious Studies with a minor in English. He also received his Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. He is a Credit West Preaching Scholar at The Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio having earned the Doctor of Ministry degree in Transformational
Preaching. He is also a National Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He loves serving people and making a difference in the lives of those he encounters. He truly does all he can to improve the lives of those he meets so they may be transformed and do the same for others.

 

Dr. Wainwright is the proud husband of Lady Ericka Hunt-Wainwright of Baltimore, Maryland. Pastor and Lady Wainwright are the proud parents of three beautiful children: Eden, Blake, and Sophia.
